Rothamsted Research is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to provide senior operational leadership across the Rothamsted campus partnership of Rothamsted Research, Rothamsted Enterprises and the Lawes Agricultural Trust. Reporting to the Chief Executive of Rothamsted Research and the Chair of the Trust, the COO will be a key Executive Team member with responsibility for estates and facilities, property and asset management, IT, health and safety, and wider campus operations. The role will develop operational, estate and infrastructure strategies, identify efficiencies and support future growth across a complex environment combining scientific research, commercial activity and charitable stewardship. Candidates should have a strong record of leading complex operations, estates and multidisciplinary teams, experience delivering organisational change, and the ability to work credibly with executives, boards and specialist colleagues. The role is hybrid.
