NHS England is recruiting a Deputy Director – Policy and Strategy within the NHS Cancer Programme. The postholder will oversee delivery of the National Cancer Plan and lead policy development and early implementation of commitments relating to early diagnosis and survival, innovation and wider support for people with cancer. The role requires influential relationships across NHS England, the Department of Health and Social Care, Cancer Alliances, providers, charities, clinicians and people affected by cancer, and combines strategic policy leadership with delivery oversight. Candidates need substantial senior-level experience of strategy, service development and translating policy into implementation.
